Getting started

Pick a protocol, set the treadmill gradient, choose your heart-rate source, then start. On a VAMEVAL, Vema announces each stage five seconds ahead; tap Treadmill set as soon as the console shows the requested speed.

FAQ

Why is my result the previous stage's speed?

That is the protocol: only a stage completed in full counts. Giving up fifty seconds into a stage does not validate it.

The band won't connect?

Check that heart-rate broadcasting is switched on in its own app — that setting sometimes reverts after a firmware update. Check too that no other receiver (treadmill, another app) has already claimed it: only one at a time.

The link dropped mid-test?

At the end, Vema queries Health over the test window. If your watch or band has synced in the meantime, the denser series is retained and both are kept.

Why is my Cooper lower than my VAMEVAL?

That is expected: a twelve-minute effort is run at around 90–95 % of maximal aerobic speed. It is exactly why the two series stay separate.

Health

A maximal aerobic speed test is an all-out effort. If in any doubt about your fitness to do it, seek medical advice first. Vema is a measurement tool, not a medical examination.
